Summer? Algarve? Atlantic ocean? What to wear? Portugal is a different kind of playground when it comes to fashion and nothing like boiling hot Spain.
To be honest I haven’t put much thought in what I’ve packed for the family holiday. But thank god, I’ve been in Helsinki only 1 Week before we hopped on the plane to Porto because my suitcase has still been perfectly equipped with summer looks that are made for chilly evenings spending at the beach.
Let’s keep this straight – Helsinki and Porto are two different kind of cities but one thing they have in common is that summer isn’t always as hot as expected (even though heat waves are terrorizing Central Europe at the moment) but could also be nippy from time to time. Generally speaking, in Finland it’s the northern geographic location and in Portugal it’s the Atlantic ocean that keeps a constant cool all year round. So I found myself wearing one or two outfits over and over again which I brought all the way from Finland leaving other cloths in my suitcase untouched. One of them is this look: A rather nordic outfit with a southern touch. The oversized denim shirt which I found in Helsinki at Monki was the best companion for every occasion in Portugal as well as Helsinki – especially for the chilly evenings we spent strolling the lovely streets of Porto and later on at beaches of the breathtakingly beautiful Algarve. Combined with a patterned skirt by The Fifth Label and simple espadrilles – which added the right amount of summer feeling – it became my Portugal Uniform.
Hanni and I took the pictures by the pool of the resort we stayed in at the Algarve right before Dinner because we just had to capture the great evening light at the pool and of course the look of this amazing holiday 🙂
Have you already been on your summer vacation? If yes, where did you go? I’m curious!
