Winter. Ice, wind, snow. That’s one side of looking at this time of the year. But the much better (and much healthier) way is to see the beauty in this ice and wind that rules over Vienna during the winter months. Because before Christmas Vienna turns into paradise on earth and easily beats metropoles like Paris, London and New York in beauty and excitement. And how can one better explore a great city than with a brand new bag by Mint&Berry? Which I’m now giving away in cooperation with the lovely team of Stylefruits as a first little Christmas treat for you!
There are so many things to do and to explore before Christmas and even though I’m living in Vienna for over 3 years now there are still places for me to discover, which is why I wanna show you My Vienna – a new category on theirswardrobe.com – during the next weeks and months, or even years – it depends on us 🙂 And will be about everything I love about the city.
But before I take you to Viennas most glittery christmas markets, best coffee shops, nicest restaurants and loveliest boutiques I wanna talk about viennese fashion. Because even though Vienna isn’t a fashion capital it has it’s very unique sense of style and taste. If you are in the Austrian capital you gonna notice that we don’t have a very well-marked look like the chic Parisian, the elegant Milanese or the cool kids of Stockholm. But the longer you’re around and pay attention to those small things you gonna realize that Viennese dress of all things wearable. We aren’t that into crazy outfits like the people in London or love the hipster/artist/intellectual style like Berlin does. Viennese love a basic, classy version of current trends. Our outfits don’t stream attention (except our evening gowns 🙂 ) but still everyone is very anxious about their looks, so Viennese learned to master the art of “less is more” in a very sophisticated way.
Over the years I adapted the Viennese style and fell in love with the way of people looking at fashion, because it has a high priority in their lives but doesn’t overrule other parts. Simplicity is key and so I styled my camel wool kimono, a simple striped basic and black skinny jeans to make my inner Viennese smile. The beanie is my constant companion in this windy city and so is a classic cross body bag by Mint&Berry which is my first Christmas Presents to you in cooperation with Stylefruits.de, where you can find great inspiration for your outfits!
