As a child I was so proud of my little wristwatch by Swatch with a pink clock-face and a light blue wristband festooned with little fishes and mermaids and lots of glitter, of course. It was the everyday high light of my kindergarden outfits. But the older I got the less I cared about watches and my sense of time was contingent by the school bell. Only since my internship in Sweden in summer 2013 my old love for watches had a serious revival, since then I feel uncomfortable and sometimes even lost without one.

A few weeks ago I got introduced to the brand Komono – a community of young designers and ambitious dreamers. Rooted in Belgium the accessories label took the fashion world by storm with their minimalistic and puristic styles, which they secretly call retro-futuro. During my research I totally fell in love with their simple designs for watches – especially in the men’s section – and knew this is a company I really and honestly wanna share with you. Clean even boyish cuts and reduced to essence, make them exactly the kind of watches I like. When my “Winston Monte Carlo“ arrived – all black with a fake fur wristband – and I opened the beautiful case I realized that not only the design but also the quality definitely makes this brand unique.
Watches became my daily dose of accessories as I’m quite modest when it comes to jewelry and with this new brand on my radar there will be much more variety in the future!
What about you? Do you wear a watch on a daily bases and if so, what’s your favorite brand?
btw.: Komono also designs breathtakingly beautiful sunglasses (like here) and I definitely have to get my hands on this model called Dreyfuss – so keep that label in mind for the upcoming summer season!
