The shirt dress. Probably one of the most comfortable garment ever invented by modern day designers – of course beside sweatpants 🙂 – and definitely the best clothing in our wardrobe for the indian summer that often rules over Austria before the first snow shows up in the mountains.
The thing about shirt dresses is that they always look very relaxed, because of their usually rather boxy cut and oversized fitting. Of course there are formfitting versions as well, but what’s the point in wearing a shirt as a dress if it’s tight like so many other dresses? Especially for a loose-fit fanatic like me this would be a total wast of fabric. Anyway, the oversized fit is better anyway (hihi 🙂 ) and much more suitable for the first signs of Autumn because paired with ankle boots shirt dresses are eye catchers, even though I’m sporting the shirt dress with espadrilles as I’ve taken these pictures with Hanni before my Vietnam adventure and back then it had 30°C in Graz. But I definitely gonna show you a look with more autumnal pieces as well, promise! I personally love to team my shirt dress, which I found at Zara a few weeks ago, with my beloved backpack by Grafea because this vintage looking bag just adds the perfect amount of old-school-spirit to the outfit and is the best companion for a day in the city. Regarding the fabric I would always go for a very light one, because the boxy cut of the shirt dress in combination with a very rigid material might appear a bit bulky and no one really feels comfortable in a bulky looking outfit.
Hope you like the outfit and tell me what do you think about shirt dresses? Yay or Nay?
