Today I’m sharing my very own summer sangria recipe in celebration of my little sister’s high school graduation. For me it’s the perfect drink for every occasion especially for summer parties – but also during colder days – if you recall the Winter Sangria from December. Anyway, prouder than ever I mixed this super easy drink for drinking a toast to the new era in Hanni’s life!
When I awoke today it felt like graduating from high school all over again. I was nervous just like 3 years ago even though I was still in bed stairing at the white ceiling of my room at my parents house while keeping my fingers crossed for my little sister. It’s so surreal that at noon school will be in the past for my family and soon will only become a distant memory. After all these years at one school it’s a funny feeling leaving this place. I, for my part, took my graduation certificate and never looked back and somehow never missed it either unlike many of my schoolmates. I love that flavor of freedom. Sweet, adventurous and full of possibilities (I’m sure you know what I mean). And especially today freedom tastes like white peaches, elderberry and ginger – as I created a summer sangria for celebrating a new chapter in Hanni’s life.
If you have something to celebrate too then just follow the easy instructions and soon enjoy a super delicious summer drink!
Ingredients (6 glasses):
6 peaches cut into bite-sized pieces
1 ginger cut into thin slices
1. cut the peaches and the ginger and put all into a big pitcher
2. pour the elderflower juice over the fruits and let it rest for 1h
3. then add the prosecco and stir carefully, afterwards let the whole sangria rest for one night (or at least for a few hours) in the fridge
4. serve the drink on ice and add a dash of soda for a more refreshing taste and enjoy 🙂
