History repeats itself over and over again and the funny thing is that I’ve already reached the age when I can laugh about the fact that I’ve experienced some trends over a decade ago (almost two to be exact) 🙂 Like dungarees! Who else has worn them in kindergarden?
As a child I’ve been not the easiest to handle when it came to cloths. I had times when I didn’t care about what I was wearing which drove my mother nuts but especially during my days at the kindergarden I had a strong mind on what has to be worn and dungarees – pants as well as dresses – definitely had been on the list. Now I’m 22 years old and I’m wearing my kindergarden uniform again with a big smile all over my face.
Dungarees had their big revival this summer but back then I wasn’t sure if I really wanna go down memory lane. But I changed my mind in Autumn, wearing a knitted dress version paired with tights and over knees and suddenly the throw back actually makes fun. I found this knitted dungaree at Mango a view weeks ago and first struggled to style it, because wearing dungarees has been a great long while ago and simple basic tops won’t do the job anymore. In the end I stepped out of my comfort zone and even went for a little pattern mix, which you can see best in second last pictures. It is a silk blouse by Monki with very detailed but still minimalistic pattern which adds a very nice (and for unicolor-lovers like me even unexpected) structure to the whole outfit. Combined with my beloved leather jacket – this outfit has become the perfect dungarees look for girls who had left kindergarden a while ago 🙂
So what do you think about dungarees and who would you style them? I’m eager to know!
