In today’s edition of Confessions of a Blogger I want to talk about the 5 things I love most about blogging.
1. The Community
When I started blogging I was still in high school. I didn’t know anyone else blogging and I never thought that there is a real blogger community out there with many interesting people. When I moved to Vienna I got to know some other bloggers and after some time these simple “blogger-to-blogger acquaintances” became friends. The community grew bigger and stronger and the longer I’m around my blogger friends the more I learn and after every blogger event motivation kicks in like adrenaline.
2. The New
As a fashion blogger or a blogger in general one has to keep up with new trends that pop up everywhere, change rapidly and disappear seconds later. Every new season, every new post and every new collaboration is an opportunity and a fresh start. One can learn from the previous mistakes and try a different way to approach one’s goal. The New might be something frightening but when you never step out of your comfort zone you’ll never know how far you can go and what you can accomplish.
3. The Work
I have always been a libertine. I wasn’t a loud rebel but I wanted to do the things my own way and wanted to be free to organize my own time. This is the way I’m the most productive and that’s what I love about blogging. I’m my own boss and I’m responsible for my work. If I make an effort the clicks and views go up and collaborations fly in and if not I’m the one to blame. Moreover I’ve learned a lot throughout my time as a blogger what it takes to be an entrepreneur and successful.
4. The Challenge
Blogging is a challenge, especially if you want to work on a professional level. At first I did it only for myself – taking pictures, editing, writing etc. I never thought other people would like to read my stuff but when my blog grew and more reader kept returning, commenting and interacting I realized that this is what I want to do. Still, the challenge is to keep up, to stay on top of an daily changing world and to motivate yourself not to give in, which brings us back to point one 🙂
5. The Fun
This point is definitely the engine of a blog because girls just wanna have fun. If you ever meet a blogger who says differently, she/he is lying. We wouldn’t do it if it doesn’t bring us joy. There is more to fun than just giggling with fellow bloggers. It’s not only the invitations to events, free cloths or other myths about bloggers. It’s all the points above mixed together and combined with having a creative outlet and a place to share our thoughts and passion with other people.
If you are a blogger, what do you love most about blogging?
